The International Coalition for Children with Incarcerated Parents

Justice and the Children of Incarcerated Parents:an international conference

INCCIP, the International Coalition for the children of incarcerated parents, is pleased to announce the first conference hosted by the Coalition will be held in Rotorua, New Zealand between 20-23 March 2017.  The conference has a number of themes including research, advocacy, working with the children of prisoners and including the voices of families and children.

Please go to the call for papers page to lodge an abstract and register your details.

The conference registration fee (until 31 December 2016) will be $450NZ (at today's rates, this is $320US, $425AU, £260 and €290) per person. The rate from 1 January 2017 will be $550NZ. We are hoping to offer some assistance to some community people who cannot afford the rate. Registration is now open on the registration tab.

Rotorua is a tourist town with many different accommodation options.  We have secured 70 rooms for delegates at the conference hotel (Rydges) and a nearby motel at the excellent rate of $165 per room per night. We have also reserved some cheaper motel rooms in the area. We suspect the hotel rooms will be snapped up quickly, so book early or let us know how we can help.

Coming to New Zealand can be expensive but can also be quite cheap when specials are offered.  There is significant competition on all routes now, whether you are coming from the USA, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia or Australia. So we suggest you keep your eyes open for good deals.
